'Intelligent' lighting system

If the 'smart' lighting system tested at Delft University of Technology (Netherlands) is successful, remembering to turn off the light becomes unnecessary. This lighting system uses up to 80% less electricity than current systems, and the cost of maintenance is also cheaper.

Street lights turn on when cars are coming and dim when the car has passed

The system includes LEDs, motion sensors and wireless communication devices. The lights are in a dim light when there are no vehicles or pedestrians around, which saves considerable power consumption. The lights will light up if someone is coming and never completely turn off. Instead of turning off, they are dimmed at about 20% of the standard light. In addition, maintenance personnel do not need to waste any effort to find the system failure because the lights will automatically send an incident signal to the control room.

Currently, the Netherlands spends more than 300 million euros (more than 8,753 billion dongs) on electricity for street lamps each year. and the street lighting system emits over 1.6 million tons of CO2.
