According to Mr. Fazeli, this plan is expected to be implemented before the middle of February. The final tests to prepare the launch of the ship carrying this living creature into the universe have been completed.

Meanwhile, Iranian national television reported that the launch will take place over a 10-day period, starting January 31, on the 34th anniversary of the Iranian Islamic Revolution.

Previously, Mr. Fazeli once said that the introduction of large animals into the universe is the first step towards the goal of bringing people to space in Iran by 2020.

Iran used to bring small animals such as rats, turtles and worms to space by Kavoshgar-3 missiles in 2010.

Tehran said it successfully launched three satellites into space in 2009, 2011 and the last time in February 2012.
