The Iranian Space Agency (ISA) said it plans to launch two homemade satellites on Earth orbit later this year according to the Persian calendar (ending March 20, 2014).

According to Hamid Fazeli, a senior official of ISA, tests are currently underway for two satellites named Sharif and Tadbir before being launched into orbit. However, Mr. Fazeli did not reveal more about the technical features of these two new satellites. Earlier, Mr. Fazeli had announced that six new satellites, mainly by self-research and development of Iranian universities, would be launched into Earth's orbit in 2013.
