Israel made durable plastic such as steel

According to a team of Prof. Moshe Kol (Department of Chemistry at the University of Tel Aviv), they have uncovered unprecedented industrial plastics by using a new polymer catalyst to create a stronger polymer chain, forming one of the highest melting point ever made, and stronger and more durable.

A team of scientists from Tel Aviv University (TAU) in Israel has created a special plastic that is environmentally friendly. It is durable, can be used to replace steel and similar metals.

Prof. Moshe Kol said the resin could be used in the manufacturing and automotive industries. With the same strength of steel, it will greatly reduce the cost of plastic treatment every day in the world. Its production is simpler and more economical.

Mr Kol said that research into the plastics in plumbing pipes will save water and maintain less than conventional copper pipes that will leak over time, while concrete pipes are heavy and difficult to change.

"Plastic pipes require very little material, weigh ten times lighter than steel and a hundred times lighter than cement." Leakage reduction means more efficient water use and better water quality , " he said. Kol said.
