Jackets receive messages for rescuers

Experts at SINTEF Research Institute and a group of students at the Norwegian University of Science and Technology have developed a jacket that can help firefighters or members of the rescue and rescue team stay in touch. with each other. The main thing is that it allows users to receive and read messages while still being free to perform tasks.

The prototype jacket is equipped with many electronic devices, including a small LCD screen on the sleeve. The idea is that if members of the rescue team wear this type of clothing, they can easily communicate with each other and with the captain.

When the leader sends a message from a telephone or computer, the jacket will receive and signal the wearer through a vibrator attached to the collar. The user just looking at the screen is able to read the message.

The research team said that in areas where disaster strikes, mobile networks may not continue to operate, affecting communications. But SINTEF's jacket will not be affected as it uses a direct Wi-Fi system to forward messages from one shirt to another within a 50 meter radius.

The only drawback of this type of jacket is that the wearer himself can not respond or send a message to another person.
