The famous Internet search engine today

The Japanese government and high-tech companies and universities will work together to develop a separate Internet search technology instead of "bridgeing" Google.

News from the Japanese Ministry of Commerce said that this month, a team of more than 20 local companies and universities will meet in Tokyo to come up with a general development outline. The initial outline of the project is expected to be completed around July 2006.

Domestic companies will include well-known electronics corporations such as Matsushita Electric Industrial; Hitachi; NEC; Fujitsu; Nippon Telegraph & Telephone (communication), and NHK (television).

According to Nihon Keizai (Japan), the project to develop the Internet search engine will last for several years with the starting time from April 2007 and the budget of tens of millions of dollars.
