Jewelry rings 3,000 years old with pure gold

The more than 3,000-year-old twist is made of 730 grams of almost pure gold found in the UK that could be a protector for pregnant women.

A metal detector has just discovered the big gold spiral in the fields in Cambridgeshire, England, the Guardian on November 28 reported. It is made of 730 grams of nearly pure gold, originating more than 3,000 years ago. This is the best artifact found in the UK for more than a century.

"It's been a long time since we discovered such a heavy object," said Neil Wilkin, manager at the British Museum.

Helix is often used for neck wear. Longer ones can be worn like belts. However, Wilkin said that the ring is longer than the size of a man's waistline, so this could be a protective measure for women in late pregnancy. In addition, another assumption is that this is a magnificent jewel to enhance the value of the animal that is about to be sacrificed.

"It could fit a goat or a sheep , " Wilkin said.

According to him, the bracelet was made by a skilled artist. It is shaped from square gold bars and then twisted and polished. Experts are valuing this artifact. Earlier, a shorter and lighter Corrard twist was found in Northern Ireland three years ago worth nearly $ 200,000.
