"When I first saw nails from this creature's fossil record, I immediately thought of Edward Scissorhands," said researcher David Legg of the University of London. .

The word "chela" in the name Kooteninchela means "nail" or "scissors" in Latin. About 4cm long and living in Canadian waters, this creature may have been a kind of predator and used nails to feed.
