Join hands to protect wild animals

Illegal wildlife trade is the fourth largest organized crime activity in the world after trafficking in weapons, drugs and human trafficking.

That is the sharing of Dr. Hans Dieter Stell - Consulate General of the German Consulate in Ho Chi Minh City at the Gala Wildlife Protection held in the afternoon of October 30.

He also said that to change the wrong habits of users, there must be many media campaigns to propagate and educate to many strata about saying no to wild animals.

At Gala, Dr. Pham Anh Cuong - Director of Department of Biodiversity Conservation - said that in recent years, government agencies and international organizations have made efforts to conserve biodiversity but only partly limited be the rate of degradation of biodiversity.

One of the reasons, according to Mr. Cuong, is the illegal hunting, trading and consumption of wild animals that are thriving in Vietnam, making rare species such as rhinos, gray cows, tigers . on the banks strains.

In order to prevent and stop this issue, legislative agencies are required to complete legal regulations, strict law enforcement agencies, the support of each citizen and the entire society.
