Female sturgeon, especially the highly appreciated beluga species, is considered to be the most valuable in the world. Their eggs are harvested and processed into black salted eggs. Depending on each type, the price is 1,500 - 6,000 - 10,000 USD / kg. In Vietnam, farmed sturgeon eggs at least reach VND 25 million / kg.

The Caspian Sea provides more than 90% of sturgeon catches worldwide, especially since the collapse of the Soviet Union, overfishing has led to the massacre of this fish. UPI news agency leads scientific sources to say that female sturgeon takes 4 - 20 years for eggs. Since 2002 there has been a restriction on sturgeon fishing in Caspian, only exploited within a few months of the year.

The ban on sturgeon fishing in Caspian will be an opportunity for countries to successfully raise black sturgeon (including Vietnam) to export fish eggs to collect foreign currency.
