Lack of vitamin D, the elderly are weak
A recent study has shown that vitamin D deficiency is a direct cause of physical weakness for the elderly.
In the journal " The Journal of Gerontology " specializing in the elderly, in April 2007, scientists thought that people with too low levels of vitamin D tested all had physical problems, and there is no agility.
Denise k.Houston of Wake Forest University, representing the researchers, released data from an Italian researcher, more than 900 people aged 65 and over tested vitamin D levels and assigned to normal jobs.
Researchers tracked their walking speed, how long they could get up from their seats and whether they were able to balance well. According to the review, a quarter of these elderly people do not have enough vitamin D. According to the researchers, the lack of vitamin D is not entirely due to diet.
Most of the vitamin D in the body is formed by exposure to sun light. The higher the age, the less exposure to the sun, and therefore, the amount of vitamin D decreases with their age.
The study also showed that people who are exposed and high in vitamin D have good health.
