Launch of the website on avian influenza
In the afternoon of November 30, 2005, the Ministry of Posts and Telematics (MPT) held the opening ceremony of the bird flu website at www.cumgiacam.gov.vn . According to the information given, although this is the 3rd season in Vietnam, many people are still not equipped with basic knowledge about bird flu.
According to the assessment, the introduction of a website that provides information about bird flu is essential at this time, when the epidemic is tending to spread. In October and November 2005, avian influenza broke out in 199 communes and wards of 72 districts in 17 provinces and cities nationwide. Since October 1, 1.5 million poultry have been destroyed. In the same two months, Vietnam had 2 people infected with H5N1 virus (1 died), bringing the total number of cases to 93 (42 deaths).
