Launched 36-hour Windows Live Hotmail service
Yesterday (7-5), Microsoft announced the launch of a free, 36-language Windows Live Hotmail web service. This Windows Live Hotmail mailbox capacity is 2GB.
This is the next product of MSN Hotmail service and is the most important upgrade version of Hotmail since its first public launch.
The goal of Windows Live Hotmail is to replace its previously available Hotmail service and contribute to Microsoft's Live service platform development strategy.
Windows Live Hotmail integrates many new technologies, and allows users to easily access via the web, mobile phones or e-mail clients. The product is built on Microsoft's AJAX platform.
Steve Berkowitz, Microsoft's senior vice president, said: " We are ready to deliver Windows Live Hotmail to more than 20 million accounts using MSN Hotmail ."
Windows Live Hotmail is redesigned with the same interface as Microsoft's famous PC email application - Outlook Express and Microsoft Outlook. Mailbox now has an email preview window no different from Outlook.
From May 7, 2007, customers can access hotmail.com to upgrade to the new Windows Live Hotmail service. If you want to use Windows Live Hotmail on a mobile phone, visit http://mobile.live.com. 2GB Windows Live Hotmail mailbox capacity.
However, by the end of this month, Windows Live Hotmail users will be able to use the service via e-mail and connect to Microsoft Office Outlook 2003 or Office Outlook 2007 for free using the Microsoft Office Outlook Connector test. The Outlook Connector will be available worldwide in 11 languages.
In 2008, Microsoft intends to expand the software segment for mobile phones. The company plans to achieve 20 million sales of Windows Mobile operating systems in 2008.
In addition the software giant also plans to provide more software for 40 different mobile phone manufacturers worldwide. Among them are Motorola and Samsung that promise to choose Windows Mobile for the platform on devices.
