Microsoft restored the collapsed Hotmail service
Microsoft has revised a number of technical problems that prevent thousands of users from accessing Windows Live accounts, Hotmail email and other online services from Microsoft.
The Windows Live product manager, Samantha McManus, replied in an email from InformationWeek.com as follows: ' A problem has occurred for global users who cannot access Windows accounts. Their live. This issue has been resolved and the system has returned to normal operation . '
Microsoft did not disclose the cause of these errors, but some reports have pointed out that, in addition to Hotmail and Windows Live, these problems affect many other Web services, including Xbox Live and Microsoft's Windows online games Messenger, programs that require users to login to their account on Windows Live.
The problem has spread globally. Windows Live users send a lot of announcements to online forums of countries, from Finland to Japan and Honduras in Central America.
McManus said, ' Our customers, who used Windows Live, expect a highly reliable service, and Microsoft has done its best to resolve this rare error as soon as possible .'
This error of Windows Live also makes it difficult for other companies' services. Bell Canada's Sympatico email service, which set up its server at Microsoft's MSN network, also stalled for several hours.
Hotmail was created in 1996 thanks to the efforts of two programmers, then sold to Microsoft a year later. The service was transferred from MSN Hotmail to Windows Live Hotmail last year when Microsoft paid attention to consolidating its online services under a unified name.
Microsoft announced it currently has about 280 million Hotmail users.
