Taiwan has revealed a new military weapon, Tuo River, a self-contained Taiwanese stealth missile ship. Local newspapers call Tuo River a 'monster' because of the parameters it shows.

Taiwan has just revealed the first image of a new military weapon for the Navy, a new class of Taiwanese stealth missile corvettes . Tuo River is the first of a series of 12 500-ton missile vessels of this type, developed by Taiwan in a program called "Sea Scrolls".

Design

According to the design, Taiwan's new Tuo River high-speed rocket ship has a length of 60.4m; 11m wide and operated by 41 crew members, can reach a fast speed at sea, up to 38 knots (70km / hour) and a range of 2,000 nautical miles.

Weapons

According to the developers, this version of Taiwan's coastal warship is equipped with powerful weapons with 16 anti-ship missiles . Based on the model displayed at the exhibition, the ship can carry two types of missiles simultaneously, Hsiung Feng II and Hsiung Feng III.

HF-II missiles have a maximum range of 130km with speeds up to Mach 2, while HF-III missiles have a maximum range of 160km with subsonic speed. In addition, the ship is also equipped with a 76mm caliber cannon, 4 12.7mm machine guns and close-range defense systems (CIWS) Phalanx 20mm. The ship has flight deck for a medium size helicopter (about 10 tons) that can be loaded / landed (no helicopter housing).

Tuo River is also applying stealth design technology, combined with its ultra-fast travel speed, will significantly enhance its accessibility to potential targets. The modern two-body ship uses stealth technology to reduce radar reflectivity, making it more difficult to detect.

According to Aleksey A Maslov, director of the China Research Center at Russia's People's Friendship University, the Tuo River was not developed for the purpose of sinking Chinese carriers. Instead, it is capable of breaking radar systems and carrier communications . This hinders the launch of fighters and helicopters on board.
