In order to reduce damage to farmers, extend the shelf life of fresh cloth to be able to transport far away from consumption, recently the Southern Fruit Research Institute (SOFRI) has successfully studied and recommended farmers. farmers in the growing areas have a method of treating and preserving fresh fabrics.

According to the topic group, applying this method can preserve fresh fabric within 1 month while maintaining the color, quality, and high efficiency for growers and traders. NNVN briefly introduces this process for reference, apply:

- Harvesting : Gently harvest fruit trees on dry days, avoid rainy days. Harvest the cloth when the pods are fully red (about 102-109 days after the flowers bloom). Tie fabric into clusters of about 3-5kg or in plastic baskets about 10kg. Eliminate uneven, crushed, ripe fruit and deformed fruits.

- Preparation of materials : Materials and chemicals include: hydrochloric acid (HCl) or NaHSO 3 , dip tank, blower, plastic basket .

- Handling : Dip each bundle or whole plastic fruit basket into NaHSO 3 solution for 10 minutes (mix 60g NaHSO 3 in 1 liter of clean water, stir well to dissolve). NaHSO 3 solution has the effect of hardening the pods, limiting dehydration, killing and combating harmful bacteria and fungal pathogens. Take out and dip in 4% HCl solution for 2-5 minutes. HCl solution has the effect of inhibiting color, keeping fresh fruit peels more valuable products.

- Packing, storage and transportation : After being treated, let it dry naturally or use a blower to blow dry and pack in a foam box to transport to the place of consumption by cold car or store in a cool store with something temperature of 4-5 degrees Celsius, air humidity 90-95%. It is also possible to use polyethylene polyethylene bags to store fruit fruit while avoiding dehydration and keeping the skin color longer.
