A poll in the US shows that more people believe in ghosts and aliens than those who believe in the existence of gods.

A US marketing company conducted a poll of 3,000 people before launching an advertising campaign for a sci-fi movie. Participants were asked about their views on gods, alien creatures and ghosts.

58% of participants said they believed in the existence of extraterrestrial and ghost creatures, while 54% admitted that they believed in God actually existed. The proportion of women who believe in supernatural is higher than that of men and they also participate in more religious activities.

Many scientists believe that people tend to believe in phenomena that they cannot see or explain. A 2006 US university survey found that 23% of freshman students believed in the mystical world like horoscopes and talking to the dead. This rate for students in second year and above and graduate students is 31%.

Some psychological and sociological experts claim that we inherit our belief in supernatural forces from our ancestors. Christopher Bader, a sociologist at Baylor University (USA) commented: "Belief in mystic phenomena exists in an individual's subconscious right from the moment of birth. Over time, that belief does not disappear. but only a change in content, for example, today few people believe in the gods but the number of people who believe in the existence of flying saucers increases. "

Religion and belief in supernatural phenomena have no close relationship. Dozens of polls show a completely opposite reality. "The higher the belief in supernatural phenomena, the more faith in God and the gods. The devout believers rarely believe in the existence of an alien or ghost," Rod Stark, psychologist Baylor University, affirmed.
