Psychologists from the University of Edinburgh (UK) photographed 6 men with similar attractiveness. The team used editing techniques to create three image versions for each person, in which their pupils were large, medium and small.
They then arranged the photos in pairs and then asked 10 women to rate their attractiveness. The team also asked 10 women to provide information about their age, start time and menstrual cycle, contraceptive methods they used.
The results showed that, within 4 days before the 13th day of the menstrual cycle (the most easily conceived period), the women all liked the photos of boys with large pupils. During the rest of the menstrual cycle, they like both images with small and medium pupils.
Scientists think that women like men who have a big pupil for the most fertile time because it is a sign that men are sexually interested in them and ready to mate. This is an instinctive psychological trend from the primitive time of mankind and they happen unconsciously.
