Microsoft is about to launch a security tool for Office files
Microsoft is ready for a new Office file converter, which it said will help remove malicious code attached to the document.
According to Microsoft, the new tool will help make the enterprise network safer because it will eliminate the possibility of exploiting vulnerabilities in older file formats.
The tool is called Microsoft Office Isolated Conversion Environment (MOICE), there are many cases that interact with old file formats, such as Office XP or 2003. When these document formats are accessed, it will be transferred by MOICE. Exchange and process with newer Office version - Office 2007.
Enterprises can easily install MOICE and apply group security policies to users when using them. However, because it has to convert and process data, this application will consume a small amount of memory. In addition, VBA and Macro projects may encounter problems with MOICE.
Microsoft is expected to put MOICE into use in the near future, although no specific time will be announced.
