The Russian Federal Security Department has spent 45 million rubles to buy a 'lab-bus', accompanying the presidential convoy and high-ranking officials, according to Izvestia newspaper.

A modern laboratory will be equipped to quickly analyze the environment, detect any infections or toxic chemicals in the environment. On the outside, it is impossible to distinguish a 'bus-laboratory' from a regular bus.

The bus and laboratory were renovated by the National Security Bureau on the basis of a minibus Volkswagen Crafter. Behind the driver's cabin is divided into two parts, including working parts and technical parts. In the working unit, all devices are hand-held and each has two units at the same time. In the technical department, the auxiliary equipment is placed.

At the request of security services, the equipment includes ion spectroscopy to study foreign liquids, chromatography-mass spectrometers, Raman spectrometers, to quickly identify chemicals, dose measurements. amount of radioactive substances, gamma ray spectroscopy and some modern detectors. The bus-laboratory also has an air filtration system. Control devices is a dedicated computer.

In the minibus there will be three protective suits, special masks, poison gas masks, fire extinguishers, and two on-the-back devices for liquid handling and poison gas. Each flask must consist of at least five liters of disinfectant, eliminating toxic gases based on hydrogen peroxide, starch, ammonium compounds, oxalic acid and water.

Buses-labs have fuel reserves to travel a circuit not less than 500km. The main goal of the laboratory is to check the points that high-ranking Russian officials will visit or work to protect their safety from the conspiracy to kill.
