Music can help your heart be healthy
Favorite songs or songs not only help the spirit of the person become excited, but also help the blood vessels expand more.
Cardiologists from the University of Maryland (USA) recruited 10 volunteers (both male and female) to understand the effect of music on the heart. These people are in good health and do not smoke. The team asked volunteers to listen to their favorite songs in half an hour. Then they heard the rock version of the god - something they were so scared of - in the next 30 minutes. While volunteers listen to music, scientists use ultrasound to monitor the activity of blood vessels.
On average, volunteers' blood vessel diameter increased by 26% when they listened to their favorite music. While listening to rock music, their blood vessels decreased by 6%.
' The extent of blood vessel expansion is huge. The same effect only occurs when we laugh or use some heart aids like statins , 'said cardiologist Michael Miller, lead researcher.
When the walls of the vessel expand, blood flows more easily and reduces the risk of blood clots (the cause of heart attack and stroke). The elasticity of blood vessels also prevents the risk of angioplasty.
' Although the impact of music on the heart is clear, we still think that we should not stop using statins or stop exercising. Instead, we should consider music as a supportive measure in improving the health of the heart , 'Miller said.
