NASA acknowledged not enough money to bring people to Mars

"I can't make a date to bring people to Mars anymore," said Bill Gerstenmaier, program director, taking NASA's space explorer, honestly.

According to Arstechnica technology site, over the past five years, the US Space and Aeronautics Agency (NASA) has been pursuing an ambitious project to put people on the red planet in the 2030s.

However, at the July 13 meeting of the US Air and Space Administration (AIAA), the program director who took NASA space explorer Bill Gerstenmaier admitted that his agency really did not have enough money to bring people to Mars too.

The new Spae Launch System (SLS) and the Orion spacecraft - the main means of planning to send people to Mars, have too expensive investment costs, so NASA could not start designing the type of means to land or take off from the Martian surface.

After admitting the deadlock, Mr. Gerstenmaier mentioned another possible possibility in this situation of bringing people back to the Moon.

Gerstenmaier said: "If we find water on the Moon, and we want more activities to explore, we will support the program to bring people back here."

After half a year Mr. Trump took over the presidency, NASA realized that the "destinations" in their space exploration route could change dramatically. The truth is that the agency cannot simultaneously implement both goals, both on Mars and on the Moon, unless there are groundbreaking changes.

NASA's next activities will depend on the budget. However, there is still a less expensive alternative that the agency can cooperate partly or completely with the space transport system of companies such as SpaceX, Blue Origin and United Launch Alliance.

Politically, the US Congress so far has not agreed on dependence on private companies to conduct space exploration.

However, this may change over time, as US Vice President Mike Pence recently mentioned the possibility of cooperation between NASA and private trading companies.
