NASA discovered incidents on Endeavor

The US space agency (NASA) said it had detected a worrying hole in the hull of Endeavor after the ship arrived at the International Space Station (ISS). This hole was discovered after experts enlarged the image captured by astronauts on ISS before the ship connected to the ISS.

The head of the monitoring team for the Endeavor mission, John Shannon, said NASA is now trying to determine the extent of the damage. According to NASA engineers, this hole may be due to the insulating sponge falling off the fuel tank shortly after the shuttle takes off.

Today (August 11), the Endeavor crew will check the damaged area to assess the exact size of the hole, then NASA engineers will analyze it more carefully to decide whether Should astronauts leave the ship repair space.

The insulation of sponges of the shuttle fuel tank has always been an obsession for NASA scientists, because it refers to the cataclysmic explosion of Columbia in 2003: a sponge from above the porous layer the insulation of the external fuel tank splashed, then collided with the hull and caused an explosion, causing all 7 astronauts on board to die.
