Accordingly, hackers have infiltrated through the Raspberry Pi cheap device, stealing 500 MB of important data about NASA's mission of space conquest.
If you only use a simple board, a Raspberry Pi computer is only $ 36. It is unclear for what reason NASA uses this device, because it is only suitable for projects like classic game development or home appliances.
NASA confirmed that hackers attacked last year.
According to NASA, the JPL discovered that an account used by outsiders was compromised in April 2018. This account stole 500 MB of data from one of the organization's important missile systems.
Reportedly, through the low-end Raspberry Pi device, hackers have infiltrated the JPL network. After exploiting the weakness of the intranet system, the intruder has hidden for 10 months undetected.
Hackers stole 23 files in use. Two of them contain information on the International Arms Trade Regulation (ITAR), which controls military and space technology transfer, and is related to NASA's mission to conquer Mars.
In addition to JPL, NASA's Space Center (JSC) was also compromised. JSC is responsible for managing programs such as the International Space Station. Center officials are concerned that hackers can transmit dangerous control commands to human-space flights.
NASA and high-end laboratories in the United States have always been the target of hackers because they have important information about future technology.
