Everest is considered the roof of the world, located on the border between China and Nepal. The height of this mountain is accepted from earlier is 8,848m. This number was given by India in the 1954 survey, but recently China and Nepal are having a disagreement about the height of this mountain, a few meters apart.

China thinks Mount Everest is less than 4m in height, because it skips the snow covering the top. In Nepal, it is the opposite, so measure the height of the snow peak, ie 4m higher than the rock.

The Nepal Survey Agency yesterday informed AFP that it is seeking to obtain grants from international donors and the scientific community with expertise across the globe.

"This is part of the Nepalese government's three-year project to resolve the dispute over the height of the mountain. But we do not always have scientific experts or resources to carry out that task. " , director of the survey agency, Mr. Krishna Raj BC, said.

Earlier, Nepalese government spokesman Gopal Giri once said that they could measure the height of Everest. He also said Nepal would set up measuring stations at three different locations using the global positioning system (GPS).

Thousands of people have reached the summit of Everest since Sherpa Tenzing Norgay and Edmund Hillary first conquered it in 1953. But the exact height of the summit remains a controversial issue since the first measurement in 1856. .

In May 1999, American scientists used GPS technology to record the height of Everest at 8,850m. This number is used by the National Geographic Society, and Nepal does not recognize it.
