"When the volcano continues to erupt, we cannot know what the fate of the island will be. However, it will not disappear in a few days or weeks, but will last for several years unless a larger volcanic eruption appeared and blew it away, " said Tomoyuki Kano, an official.

The volcanic eruption on November 21 caused lava layers to be sprayed in large quantities, forming a small island located 1,000km south of Tokyo. At the time of confirming the arrival of the island, Japanese coast guard said it was too early to mark this place as a new location, because the island would not last long due to the impact of erosion. .

However, the Japan Meteorological Agency said on 10 December that the island will be considered to mark the position on the national map in the near future.

According to the observation of the Japanese coast, the white and ash clouds continue to appear on this island, the lava layer continues to erupt, so the island area will also continue to expand.

Similar volcanic eruptions in the years 1970-1980 created many small islands in Japan. However, these islands have been partially or completely eaten by the ocean.
