New solution for waste in Vietnam

At the seminar on " Renewable energy combustion technology - Implementation capacity in Vietnam " took place yesterday, June 30, policy makers and experts discussed solutions to problem of selecting waste treatment technology in Vietnam.

Waste in Vietnam is a worrying situation . Along with economic development, population growth and waste of resources in people's living habits, waste has an increasing number and increasingly complex and potential ingredients are becoming more and more dangerous. muscle harmful to the environment and human health. As a developing country, the growth rate of domestic waste in both urban and rural areas, industrial and medical waste is faster than in other countries, from 2003 to 2008 doubled.

The situation in recent times has become urgent, especially in 3 big cities, Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City. Ho Chi Minh and Da Nang. In Hanoi, for example, the volume of domestic waste increases by an average of 15% per year, with an estimated total of 5,000 tons / day and night, and it is estimated that only year (2012) there will be no space for garbage disposal. Ho Chi Minh City has more than 7,000 tons of domestic waste every day, 235 billion VND needs to be processed each year.

However, most of the domestic waste is still buried in dumping sites, the most rudimentary form with many disadvantages such as waste of land area, bad smell affecting the residential area, can become a source. arising diseases, seriously affecting the environment and not taking advantage of renewable materials.

Waste water leached freely into the ground, causing water pollution. The amount of ' processed ' waste accounts for a very low rate and has successful technologies such as converting garbage into compost or burning and treating waste gas before releasing it into the outdoors (without heat recovery and combine electricity production) or take ash as construction materials with small scale.

Industrial waste, reported by Dr. Nguyen Trung Viet (Ho Chi Minh City Department of Natural Resources and Environment) and medical waste, through the report of Assoc. Dr. Nguyen Huy Nga (Department of Health Environmental Management, Ministry of Health) the situation is not much better than many problems that have not been solved.

Therefore, the seminar on ' Renewable energy combustion technology - Implementation capacity in Vietnam ' is an opportunity for policy makers and experts to propose ideas, find solutions to problems. urgently on the selection of waste treatment technology in Vietnam.

In the direction of technology selection, the preferred direction is 'Burning waste to regenerate energy' . The workshop listened to GS. Dr. Dang Kim Chi (Vietnam Association for Nature & Environment Protection) analyzes and evaluates the socio-economic and environmental efficiency of the solution to burn renewable energy in the context of Vietnam.

According to GS Chi's report, this is an energy recycling technology that is a potential solution and a technology of the future that brings many socio-economic benefits , positively contributing to the improvement. Green-clean-beautiful environment is the best choice for countries with narrow areas, high population density, industrial development and in line with the general trend of the world.

To illustrate the technology of ' Burning Renewable Energy Waste ', Martin / Mitsubishi Heavy Industri Environmental & Chemical Engineering Co., Ltd (abbreviated MHIEC) also sent representatives to attend the seminar, introducing key features of The technological line of waste treatment plants into electricity has gained a lot of experience from construction for 31 countries around the world.
