New species with scientific name is Chiromyscus thomasi . The species is named in honor of British zoologist - Oldfield Thomas for his contributions to the discovery and description of rats of the genus Chiromyscus sp.
Species of species are found near Lung Lo Pass, Son La. According to Vncreatures, they are characterized by dense, silky hair. The length of their bodies and heads is from 14 to 18 cm, the tail length is from 20 to 23 cm.
Specimens of Chiromyscus thomasi were collected in Son La, Lao Cai, Kon Tum and Nghe An.
