>>> Want to be happy, turn off the phone
"Nomophobia" is a term that describes the growing fear in the world today, the fear of not having mobile devices on people. At universities, the proportion of students with the following behaviors is increasing. Expressions of this fear are:
- Take your mobile phone to the bathroom.
- It is better to lose one finger than to leave the smartphone.
- Regularly update social networks instead of real communication with people.
Nomophobia syndrome appears to occur in most developed countries. This is an acronym for "no-mobile-phone phobia" , the term comes from a 2010 study by the British Post Office.
Research by this group shows that nearly 53% of mobile phone users in the UK tend to worry when "losing their cell phones, running out of battery, running out of money or out of coverage". About 58% of men and 47% of women feel scared when their cell phones turn off.
During meetings, many people are still engrossed in looking at the phone screen
The study was conducted for 2,163 volunteers. 55% of people surveyed said that keeping in touch with friends or family is the main reason they feel extremely worried when they cannot use their mobile phones. Stress levels caused by the absence of smartphones are equivalent to " wedding panic" and dental visits.
In the US, smartphone addiction is getting worse. The statistics here show:
- 2 out of 3 people leave their phones next to them when they go to sleep.
- -34% answered their calls while meeting with their partners.
- 1 out of 5 people can go barefoot to the street for a week, but can't touch the phone.
- More than 50% of interviewees never turn off their phones.
- 66% of adults actually suffer from mobile addiction.
It's time to rest
People must master technology
Tim Elmore, the author of nomophobia on the Huffingtonpost, said his principle is not to let anything control yourself."I realized that mobile phones, tablets, computers and other technologies applied in the future will make my life easier. However, I still set myself up. Tips: Technology is just an assistant, not a saint to worship ".
Things to do to avoid suffering from Nomophobia syndrome:
- Make sure there are times of the day, mobile phones are turned off and the user is in front of two choices: chat with friends, relatives or face loneliness.
- Balance between the time to look at the screen and the time of contact with others.
- Each day should spend a day without technology, people will feel liberated.
- Place the phone at least 5 meters away from bed. This will protect user health while increasing the effectiveness of the "Alarm" function.
- Limit the time to use technology during the day.
