North Korea claimed that the study was successful without drinking alcohol

Korean state media claimed that the country had prepared a non-alcoholic ginseng wine that could be drunk without fear of intoxication.

According to Guardian, the Taedonggang food factory has been constantly improving drinks for years, replacing sugar with sticky rice to help eliminate both spicy and alcohol in wine.
