'Not with blood group so not my child'
Anh Binh blood group B, blood group son AB and daughter O group. Suspected that two children are not their children because of different blood types, the father asks for DNA testing.
Bringing two children 's hair samples to an analyst, the man waited for four hours to expect results.
Receiving the results from Ms. Nguyen Thi Nga, Director of DNA Testing and Genetic Technology Center, Mr. Binh studied the results sheet for a long time. After a while, he looked up in suspicious eyes, asking: "That's strange, why the test results are my children but they don't have the same blood type with me. I just went with them to a blood test .".
Mr. Binh's blood type B, his son AB's group and O's daughter group. "My wife showed no signs of letting me suspect she was unfaithful. But since the blood test came, I stood still. , I was filled with sadness and suspicion, I think being a father and mother must be in the same blood group, " said the father.
It is not possible to rely on blood type A, B, O, AB to ascertain whether two people are of the same blood.(Photo: Theupbeatdad.com).
Ms. Nga explained: "If you go to the same blood group as each other's father, you only need to have a hand with a pile of children, know who your child, who is human." Ms. Nga said, if checking by blood type, it is rare to have a conclusion that even a child is not a father of a father. For example, if both parents have blood type O, the children cannot carry blood type A, B or AB but have blood type O. In contrast, both parents have AB blood type so the children cannot have the group blood O can only carry blood type A, B or AB. Blood group of Mr. Binh and his children do not fall into that case.
Ms. Nga emphasized that it is impossible to rely on blood type A, B, O, AB to ascertain whether two people are of the same blood. Determining whether two people share the same bloodline relies heavily on DNA testing. To perform this test, blood and hair samples of people who need to be tested to determine DNA must be taken.
The blood group system A, B, O is inherited according to Mendel's law, with 4 basic blood groups being A, B, O and AB. Refer to the blood group combination of father, mother and child as follows:
- O x O = O
- O x A = O, A
- O x B = O, B
- O x AB = A, B
- A x A = O, A
- A x B = O, A, B, AB
- A x AB = A, B, AB
- B x B = O, B
- B x AB = A, B, AB
- AB x AB = A, B, AB
