The Langbian Mi (Crocias langbianbis) is also known as the Mi Mountain Ba because for a long time, only this endemic bird was found in only Langbian mountain (Ba mountain) in Lam Dong province and some parts of Dak Lak province. The discovery revealed a new habitat for one of the world's most rare and precious bird species, extending its distribution range by about 250km north of Vietnam.

According to Le Trong Trai, senior program officer of the International Bird Conservation Organization (Birdlife International) - The Vietnam program, this is the first time Mi Langbian has been recorded in Kon Tum. As the data source for this bird is too small (only described twice in 1939 and 1994), the area of ​​redistribution is limited, so the International Conservation Union (IUCN) Red List has ranked it. on the list of endangered species (E), there is a high risk of extinction in nature.
