During the press meeting on the side of VE Expo 2012, representatives of the Hitachi Group introduced the advanced boiling water light boiler technology (ABWR) in the field of nuclear energy.

As a diamond sponsor for VE Expo 2012, Hitachi brings a model of nuclear power plants. In addition, visitors can observe nuclear reactors by using special glasses that apply 3D technology, creating a new presentation.

Mr. Junichi Kawahata - Deputy General Director of Nuclear Project Division, Hitachi Power System Company presented the advantages of ABWR technology of generation 3+, which is the most advanced boiling water furnace in the world, invested. use for Ninh Thuan 2 nuclear power plant, expected to be completed and put into use in 2020. Currently, 4 ABWR units are being built in Japan managed by Hitachi.

Hitachi's representative also emphasized the training of human resources for Vietnam nuclear power. ABWR technology has been standardized so when introduced into our country, it will not require too high operational capacity. However, in order to get qualified personnel, at least 3 years of training is required. That is, from 2016, even earlier, it has to deploy training. Currently, the corporation has signed an agreement to cooperate with the University of Technology and Electricity University since 2011. Hitachi wants to localize their technologies into Vietnamese technology.

In addition to sending lecturers and experts to Vietnam to teach, the company also has an annual scholarship program for 4 outstanding students to Japan to study for PhD at Tokyo University of Technology. Moreover, the Japanese Government and academic associations also have nuclear power training programs. The company will continue to implement its own training programs and coordinate with those agencies and educational institutions to train human resources for nuclear power in Vietnam in the future. The energy group from Japan pledged to try to reduce the construction unit price for every 1kw to a minimum.

In the power plan 7 announced by the Government last year, the end of 2020 will come into operation. That is, Hitachi has to start construction in 2017. Nuclear power is a special field so every stage must apply for a license from the Government. Calculating the entire period of licensing procedures, appraisal takes 3 years. In addition to nuclear power, Hitachi is also interested in renewable energy.
