IAEA evaluates the development of Vietnam's nuclear power infrastructure

Deputy Minister of Science and Technology Le Dinh Tien said that in recent years, Vietnam has made significant progress in developing nuclear power infrastructure such as nuclear inspection, nuclear security and protection. entity. However, there are some other important contents such as human resource development, legal documents system, assessment of places . needing effort and effort to meet the requirements of IAEA.

According to IAEA's Director of Nuclear Power Department, according to IAEA criteria, Vietnam is currently in phase 2 of the process of developing nuclear power infrastructure. Development of nuclear power infrastructure is an extremely important issue with many difficulties and challenges, especially for countries that have just started nuclear power programs like Vietnam due to lack of experience and lack of experts. High level in this field.

During the seminar (December 5-14), experts of the IAEA will work directly with representatives and experts of the Ministry of Science and Technology and other ministries, agencies and agencies. Focus on analyzing and discussing the content according to IAEA evaluation criteria such as: national position; location and support facilities; environmental Protection; planning incident response; nuclear safety; radiation safety; Legal framework; Human Resources; nuclear fuel cycle; radioactive waste.

From the results of the work, the IAEA mission will draw conclusions and recommend to the Government and relevant agencies of Vietnam on nuclear power infrastructure issues to meet the requirements of the IAEA. .
