The study was carried out by scientists from Newcastle University and Strathclyde University (Australia) to determine the amount of time that children are physically active.

The team monitored a series of activities of 500 children aged 8-10 when participating in activities such as moving, climbing stairs, running, playing games and jumping rope.

The results showed that children using 4% of the time spent on moderate to strong physical activity, equivalent to about 20 minutes / day compared to the recommended time for the body to benefit from 60 minutes / day.

In addition, the results also show that, in the 8-year-old group, girls are less active than boys, and especially older ones often have less active children.

Children participating in sports clubs outside the school are also said to be more active than the remaining children.
