On December 10, Typhoon Utor will enter the East Sea

This morning, Typhoon Utor approached the coast of the Philippines. At a speed of 25-30 km an hour, tomorrow (December 10), Utor will enter the East Sea, starting to affect Vietnam. Five days ago, Typhoon Durian poured into Vietnam, causing 80 people to die. Physical damage of more than VND 6,000 billion.

The Central Hydrometeorological Center, the US Naval Station and the TRS Station of the University of London all identify Utor storm after crossing the Philippines to move west and northwest, in the middle of the East Sea. The US Navy predicts that around 1 am on December 14, the storm will approach Vietnam's mainland.

Utor storm intensity is currently only level 9, ie from 75 to 88 km per hour. But according to meteorological experts, when entering the sea, receiving more energy from the sea between the East Sea (hot and humid), storms can increase levels, endangering Vietnam.

Yesterday afternoon, the Central Steering Committee for Flood and Storm Control sent telegraphs to coastal provinces from Quang Ninh to Kien Giang, requesting direction of vehicle owners operating in the sea, especially fishing vessels in the area. It is located between the Paracel Islands, Spratly Islands and the Philippine Islands actively escaping from this area.

At the afternoon meeting, the Steering Committee was particularly worried about the appearance of Utor. Because Typhoon Durian has just left Vietnam on December 5, the people of Nam Bo are still not shocked. According to statistics this morning, when landed on land, Durian killed 75 people, 15 people were missing. Before that, while at sea, the storm had claimed five lives. Total physical damage is VND 6,070 billion. In particular, Ba Ria - Vung Tau has 54 deaths, 6 missing people.
