OpenDNS - Speed up web browsing and more
OpenDNS is a DNS (Domain Name System) service that provides internet users with a DNS address to help you access the web faster, easier and safer than ever.
OpenDNS's superior features compared to conventional DNS:
1. Safer : OpenDNS is able to identify malicious phishing sites that want to steal personal or fraudulent information to get your money. This function works regardless of the operating system or browser you are using. When you enter a phishing page you will receive a warning like the one above.
2. Faster : Your computer needs to use DNS when you visit a website or send an email for example. There are two main factors that make DNS faster, namely large cache and good network. OpenDNS has a very large cache system located at the intersection of the internet. This really increases your browsing speed greatly.
3. Smarter : Normally, when you type in the wrong address, the browser will not be able to access the website. But with OpenDNS it is different. When you type the wrong domain name, such as yahoo.cmo or google.mco, OpenDNS will automatically correct it to yahoo.com and google.com. If OpenDNS does not fix errors when you type them incorrectly, it will display the search results for pages with the same domain name so you can easily choose.
4. Other benefits when using OpenDNS :
- All free.
- Easy to use. You only need to set up DNS configuration once to make it work forever. If you don't like using OpenDNS, you can easily return to the original settings.
- No need to install any software.
- Can run on all operating systems, all web browsers.
