This device will emit a focused beam rather than distributing it in all directions, such as the original Hue lamp , which is suitable for illuminating a particular subject in the room.
BR30 will be remotely controlled by smartphone or Android / iOS tablet like other Hue products: you can change the color, timer turn off, adjust the brightness ... for each ball. A central station will use the ZigBee connection to issue commands to each of the Hue bulbs within range.
The BR30 uses LEDs and has a lifespan of up to 15,000 hours with a maximum brightness of 630 lumens. According to Philips, its technology can save 80% more power than conventional light bulbs.
The BR30 was sold for $ 59 for a single ball or $ 199 for a triple ball with a central stand. In Europe, this product is slightly different, it's GU10.
