The OSIRIS-Rex asteroid research spacecraft sends images of Earth and the Moon at a distance of 63.6 million kilometers out of space, Science Alert reports. The photo was taken on January 17, when the ship was moving at 30,600km / h.
In the picture, the Earth is a light spot in the middle and the Moon is a light spot smaller than the right. Several constellations also appear in this photo, NASA said. The upper left corner is the Female Star cluster of the constellation Taurus. Hamal, the brightest star in the Aries constellation in the upper right corner. There are 5 stars that belong to the constellation of Nguu Nguu located around the Earth and the Moon.
launched into space on December 8, 2016. The ship sent many impressive images to scientists, including a photograph of the Earth at a distance of 400,000 km published last month.
OSIRIS-Rex is expected to reach the target, in August this year. The ship will take pictures and bring soil samples on this asteroid to Earth around September 2023.
