Praying Mantis eat goldfish meat

Rare images of the mantis picking up dead goldfish as food were recorded by photographer Scott Cromwell, from Oklahoma State (USA).

"I found that one of the two goldfish in my tank died and floated to the surface.

While the mantis I raised in the garden has not eaten for the last few days and I tried its reaction to the fish. I put the mantis on the wall of the fish tank and waited ' , said Scott Cromwell.

Shortly thereafter, the mantis crawled into the aquarium and swam into the water to bring the dead goldfish out of the tank. After taking the goldfish out of the tank, the mantis used this dead goldfish to make its own lunch.

Reportedly, the garden-raised mantis Scott Cromwell is one of the few mantis that feeds on dead prey, but Scott is surprised to see the mantis dare to swim into the water to retrieve its prey.
