Put nuclear into space: Europe believes Russia over America

Europe is cooperating with Russia using nuclear missiles to prevent asteroids from colliding with the Earth, although the United States also used it earlier.

According to The Telegraph, the program is funded by the European Commission called NEOShield (the near-Earth Object Shield) in collaboration with the Russian Space Research Institute to find a way to put a nuclear warhead into space.

"The work is divided among members from different countries and organizations, in which Russia has the task of studying to divert the cosmic objects dangerous by nuclear explosions," the Central Scientific Research Institute. on construction machines (TsNIIMash), of the Russian Space Agency Roscosmos, said in a press release on January 16.

According to scientists, the safest method is to make an explosion when asteroids are still in the universe , causing it to change its path and head out to Earth. Nuclear explosions near comets or meteors will ignite part of the mass of celestial bodies, creating a jet effect that will change their orbit.

Russia has announced plans to set up an early warning center to scan the sky, helping find objects at risk of colliding with the Earth.

In the draft of Russia's new space goals by 2025, TsNIIMash said it would use four satellites to observe and develop special software to track asteroids that could be dangerous.

"This is the most unique and effective idea to actively detect dangerous bodies 30 days or earlier, before it flies into the Earth's atmosphere , " TsNIIMash representative said.

Other proposals have been made, such as changing the asteroid's trajectory by stabbing a spacecraft or using a small gravitational force between the asteroid and the nearby spacecraft to convert it to another orbit.

In fact, the deployment and use of nuclear weapons in space is prohibited under the 1967 Space Space Treaty.

"If the asteroid can cause serious damage or even affect life on Earth, the ban will be removed naturally," TsNIIMash said.

Russia's participation in the European research program to bring nuclear into space has partly reflected the attitude of Russia's group of 60 countries with the ability to research space science.

Meanwhile, the idea of using nuclear warheads to prevent asteroids from the outside that could collide with the Earth has been introduced by the United States before.

In early 2014, the Wall Street Journal reported that the National Atomic Energy Administration (NNSA) under the US Department of Energy has decided to store a number of certain nuclear warheads to prevent danger. Muscle meteors can crash into Earth and destroy life in the future.

It also reported that a 67-page document was approved by the US Atomic Energy Administration.

Accordingly, instead of destroying warheads and dance equipment related to atomic weapons periodically, the US government will continue to store and maintain them in order to protect the Earth when it appears. threat from extraterrestrial meteorites.

The US government once claimed that it took millions of years for meteorites to approach the Earth, but the preparations must be done now and the move is the clearest proof for the declaration. that father.

However, the study of finding methods to use artificial grain of Earth defense fence is jointly coordinated by the United States and Russia, but the new move from Europe makes people think that Europe has evaluated Russia high. a step above the US, albeit an ally on many fronts.
