Quang Binh: Tourist boat runs on solar batteries
Engineer Dang Thanh De, deputy general director of Vina Siam Joint Venture Company Quang Binh, has researched and successfully commissioned a solar-powered composite boat called 'Eco-friendly tourist boat' for tourism. in rivers and lakes.
Model boat is 2.7m long, 1m wide, operates thanks to a solar panel mounted on the ceiling (both a battery and a cover) with an area of nearly 1m2, creating a thrust of 4.5 horsepower. The boat carries four people, and is arranged with four boxes of life buoys (each box of only 70cc volume), when in danger, just grab the lock that floats and fill with gas through a compressed air tank.

Boat propellers operate on a DC motor using electricity from solar panels. The external current directly supplies the motor to run the propeller, which is also charged to the battery as a reserve source when it is not sunny. At night, the power reserve is enough to light the lights if using a boat to visit the cave .
According to Mr. Dang Thanh De, from this model boat, it is easy to produce larger ones, more carrying capacity to put into use for tourism facilities. Especially cave tourism has water like in Phong Nha if using this boat, the environment is not polluted by exhaust fumes and oil residues like today.
Price completed boat model 30 million. Mr. De said that he is submitting to Quang Binh Provincial People's Committee for consideration to be able to apply this type of boat for tourism.
