Quit smoking with SmartStop
US Chrono Therapeutics has developed a device called SmartStop, which can be used to improve the smoking cessation efficiency of nicotine replacement therapy (NRT) thanks to wireless digital connection technology.
SmartStop consists of 2 parts: a ring worn on the wrist, arm or body and nicotine containers can be replaced. The device is programmed to satisfy a person's cravings for the day by providing skin NRT with a certain dose. It is also equipped with Bluetooth technology to allow users to connect to a smartphone application that provides real-time instructions and helps them effectively apply this therapy.
Specifically, SmartStop synchronizes the time when users crave for drugs with the phone application to promptly prevent them from smoking. The device also sends reminders or encouragement messages, helps set up support networks and provides rewards when users quit.
"Smoking reduces health even taking away people's lives, but current technologies such as nicotine-containing patches and chewing gum do not seem to work for people to quit permanently. We believe This device will solve many problems that make smoking cessation difficult, "said Dr. Alan Levy, CEO of Chrono Therapeutics.
