Quick walking helps quit smoking

5 minutes of light exercise, such as brisk walking, can help smokers quit smoking, a new study says.

They found that just five minutes of exercise was enough for drug addicts to overcome their immediate craving for nicotine .

Scientists have also conducted research on a group of drug addicts. After trying many forms of moderate physical exercise, they asked smokers to assess their needs for cigarettes. Participants said they had reduced their cravings.

Scientists do not yet know why exercise is so effective with nicotine .
