Radiation protection cement

Researchers including Do Quang Minh, Tran Thi Thu Thuy, Department of Silicat Materials, Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology have studied the effect of barite on the working ability of anti-radiation cement.

Grout containing barite effects prevent radiation during use of nuclear energy. Cement mortar with different barite content has been fabricated and tested for properties such as standard viscosity, setting time, volume stability. The results of the study have determined the rate of cement barite to ensure the ability and ability to prevent radiation.

The results showed that barite content did not significantly affect the standard water content and volume stability in the cement mix, but significantly affected the setting time and greatly affected the compressive strength of the samples. The radioactivity of the cement sample was recorded. The results show that, at 40% content, the X-ray compartment is the best and still guarantees compressive strength.
