Rats are about to cause heart disease?

Medical experts warn: In this 21st century, it is possible that a bacterial heart attack caused by infectious agents is the most common type of mouse: rats.

Since the 1990s, 20 types of Bartonelle strains have been discovered. They are considered to be very dangerous bacteria spread by animals and cause serious illnesses worldwide, from heart diseases to nervous system diseases.

'A new bacterium, called Bartineela rochalimae, has just been discovered in a patient with a heart attack after a trip to South America and here, he started getting infected' - GS. Chao-chin Chang, National University of Chung Hsing, Taiwan, said. 'This event is a warning: a new disease spread by animals can emerge. Therefore, we decided to follow closely to understand the rodents, living near people, to determine which species often carry these bacteria. '

The scientists found that rodents carry the bacteria of the Bartonella strain, such as B. elizabethae, causing inflammation of the inner lining of the heart and B. grahamii, causing human retinal neuritis. Although scientists are still unsure about the main route of disease transmission, they seem to be spread through mouse bugs. Scientists have long proven that the bug has the scientific name Ctenophthalmus nobilis parasitic on rats and spreads different types of bacteria in the Barnocella strain. Then they discovered both on other rats such as forest mice, hamsters .

'We analyzed the bacteria found on mice in Taiwan, including rats that are very popular in Europe,' said Professor Chang, 'By analyzing the DNA of bacteria, we distributed shows a line closely related to B. rochalimae, which has just been extracted from infected people in the US '.

The researchers sampled 85 mice, including 53 rats, 2 house mice (Mus musculus) and 3 hamsters to follow. The results showed that of the six mice carrying Bartonelle, 5 were rats. Four mice carry B. elizabethae, which can cause heart disease in humans and a hamster carrying B. tribocorum. However, scientists note that there was a previously unknown strain of bacteria. This line is very similar to B. rochalimae.

'Since the number of research samples is still relatively small, we have not been able to confirm that it is common rats that are responsible for spreading B. rochalimae' , said Professor Chang, 'but certainly many species of bacteria belonging to the Bartonella lineage due to the spread and spread of rodents. Preliminary results allow us to identify the sources and vectors that prove their spread. That is forced to continue research so that early warning can be given to everyone. '
