Red pine is specially protected in Lam Dong
The Lam Dong forestry sector began to review and examine all areas with red pine, on that basis, to zone the red pine into a special protected area.
According to Lam Dong Forestry Research Center (Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development), Lam Dong is a rare area in Asia and some red pine populations Taxus wallichian Zucc are very rare with the number of more than 200 trees, scattered on the plateau Lang Bianlafha - Elephant Mountain. This is a very precious plant, but because local authorities do not care and people do not know their value, they have exploited indiscriminately like other "trash wood".
In order to end this situation, Lam Dong forestry sector began reviewing and inspecting all areas with red pine, on that basis, zoning and placing red pine trees in the area of special protected plants.
The industry also organized a mass propaganda about the red pine so that people can participate in the protection and avoid improper use that could cause serious harm to their health. In the Nui Voi area - the place where some people cut down the red pine tree, the province set up a security post, investigated and resolutely prosecuted the case of cutting red pine .
According to the domestic and foreign scientific documents, the red pine Taxus wallichian Zucc is a species of great value for biodiversity and especially for active ingredients for the production of cancer cures.
