Research on the application of anti-dengue telephone
Researchers at Singapore's Nanyang Technological University (NTU) are investigating a new phone application that may be the solution to the current severe dengue state situation in Lion Island.

Called Mo-Buzz, this free phone application is primarily based on active participation of people. Accordingly, the program will be based on data analysis to track and predict new dengue fever "hot spots" a month before.
Mo-Buzz will also issue warnings to users whenever they enter the epidemic area and send messages to people at risk, advising them on what to do to prevent them.
In addition, new application users can also take pictures of potential breeding grounds for mosquitoes to send to the authorities for review.
Although promising, Mo-Buzz has not yet been deployed nationally in Singapore and NTU is in the process of preliminary discussions with authorities.
Singapore is experiencing one of the worst outbreaks of dengue fever in its history, with more than 9,000 infections reported so far this year.
The research, which began in 2010 with surveys in Singapore, India and Vietnam, will be completed this year at a cost of $ 150,000.
The World Health Organization (WHO) has invited the team to pilot this application for three weeks in Sri Lanka, where dengue fever is also raging.
