Specifically, the consultant proposed : selecting the flood elevation of + 2.5m, reducing the volume of south leveling; not renovating the Saigon River, only expanding the section, not dredging the canals; propose solutions to reinforce river banks and canals according to each specific area, depending on the nature of the ground, ensuring the stability of the project, not affecting the flow to other areas, creating a beautiful landscape for the city. modern.

Regarding the ecological environment, improving the quality of water and landscape organisms in the project area, the research team also suggested that the following urban development planning must follow the direction associated with nature; maintaining and utilizing existing canals, limiting leveling, creating more regulating lakes in the southern area combining organisms, ornamental plants, planting trees when building. Wastewater treatment is also a special concern and recommendation of the consulting unit to be built right from the beginning.

According to the Council for acceptance of the topic, the cause of the frequent flooding in urban areas in Ho Chi Minh City is due to the influence of the tide from the sea; plus the construction and leveling of areas with the function of draining water in the air conditioning system of the Saigon River in a way that does not control. These effects really impact and increase the burden on Thu Thiem area when implementing the project.

These recommendations have been promised by the Project Management Board as well as representatives of the City People's Committee to consider and settle in the later design and planning phases, as well as continuing to study all the problems under lesson.
