Revealed 70 ancient tombs tilted in Old Horse Horse

In the morning of March 31, the Institute of Archeology (under the Vietnam Academy of Social Sciences), Thanh Hoa Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism and scientists from the Australian National University had a preliminary report on the results of archaeological excavations at relics of Co-Horse's Horse in Ha Linh commune, Ha Trung (Thanh Hoa).

According to Dr. Trinh Hoang Hiep - Vietnam Institute of Archeology, who is in charge of archaeological excavation, scientists conducted excavation of an area of ​​84m 2 at the rice fields of the local people next to Co Co Horse.

Through excavation at the cultural floor of 30-60cm in the excavation hole, archaeologists have discovered quite a lot of bones, animal teeth such as turtles, water buffalo, deer, deer, fish bones, scallops, clams and oysters. . In particular, archaeologists have now discovered more than 70 ancient burial sites with over 70 individuals (an average area of ​​1m 2 / grave).

This is one of the archaeological relics with many burial tombs discovered in Thanh Hoa in particular and northern Central in general. The tombs discovered in the Old Horse Horse have not been detected, but most have discovered stone graves and grave graves. The method of burial is mainly single burial; there is also the phenomenon of burial, burial in the form of burial once and twice.

In these ancient burial tombs, the dead were buried in the posture of lying on their arms and legs, lying on their arms and legs stretched out . Besides, through this excavation, archaeologists also discovered one a large number of stone artifacts such as axes, grinding tables, millet, grinding table, net lead and many pottery items.

Initially, Dr. Trinh Hoang Hiep judged the findings of ancient tomb burial in Con Co Horse which is the distribution range of known Da But culture in Thanh Hoa, Ninh Binh and Ha Nam provinces. So far, archaeologists have discovered over 10 relics belonging to Da But culture including Da But, Lang Can, Ban Thuy, Con Co Ngon, Go Trung (Thanh Hoa); Dong Vuon, Hang Sao, Hang Co, Hang Mo .

It is known that Da But culture belongs to the middle period of the new stone age, existed about 3,000 years. Da But culture has an important position in the history of cultural development in prehistoric Vietnam. This is an early pottery processing center; developing stone processing techniques to the top; domestication organization, animal and plant farming .
